The prize money for Olympic medalists was announced

13295On July 2, a formal ceremony was held at the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Fame in Tashkent to honor the Uzbekistan delegation for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
Attendees included Tanzila Norboyeva, Chairman of the Senate and head of the country's cycling federation; Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov; Odil Abdurahmanov, Head of the Presidential Administration; Abdusalom Azizov, Chairman of the State Security Service and President of the Football Association; and the Vice President of the Asian Olympic Council. Also present were heads of the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, athletes, coaches, and media personnel.
Senate Chairman Tanzila Norboyeva and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov opened the event with speeches, wishing the athletes success.
Prime Minister Aripov announced the prize money for medal winners: gold medalists will receive $200,000, silver medalists $100,000, and bronze medalists $50,000. Coaches of medal-winning athletes will receive $50,000, $25,000, and $12,500, respectively.
The event also revealed the flag bearers for Uzbekistan at the Olympics: world boxing champion Abdumalik Khalakov and world fencing champion Zaynab Dayibekova.
The event concluded with photos of government officials and sports federation heads with the athletes. The national sports teams of Uzbekistan will soon depart for Paris, with the Olympics opening on July 26 and running until August 12.
