Ochilboy Ramatov meets the President of Turkmenistan

On April 28, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, received Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ochilboy Ramatov, who visited Ashgabat to attend the inaugural Ministerial Forum on Sustainable Development of the Economic Cooperation Organization. The meeting was reported by "Turkmenistan Segodnya."

During the talks, Ramatov conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to both President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Ramatov expressed his admiration for the newly built city of Arkadag, noting that it was an impressive initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

In return, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed appreciation to the Uzbek side for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his recent visit to Samarkand.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties exchanged best wishes for the continued prosperity and friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

As a reminder, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid an official visit to Samarkand on April 23. He was welcomed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Samarkand International Airport, which was festively decorated with the national flags of both countries. During the visit, the two leaders jointly visited the Hazrati Khizr complex to honor the memory of the First President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov. They also participated in cultural events at the “Bokiy Shahr” historical and ethnographic park, located within the “Silk Road Samarkand” international tourism center.

On April 24, bilateral negotiations were held between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Following the talks, a ceremonial event was held to award Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the Republic of Uzbekistan’s highest state honor—the Order of "Higher Degree of Friendship." President Mirziyoyev emphasized Berdimuhamedov’s significant contributions to strengthening the traditional friendship, good-neighborly ties, and strategic partnership between the two fraternal nations.
