Divers from the Emergency Situations Department rescued a drowning woman in Nukus, the capital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to the report, at 08:20 on 17 February, a passer-by informed emergency services that a person was drowning in the Dustlik Canal, which flows through the centre of Nukus.
Emergency rescue divers promptly arrived at the scene, saved the woman and provided first aid, preserving her life. She was then handed over to ambulance personnel and taken to hospital.
No information was provided about her current condition.
Earlier, a preventive inspector from the Internal Affairs Department rescued a woman who had jumped into a river in Vobkent district of Bukhara Region.
