In Nukus, two citizens were poisoned by an unknown substance

In Nukus, Republic of Karakalpakstan, two citizens were poisoned by an unknown substance, as indicated in the city mayor's decision titled 'On the investigation of the causes of the accident in the city of Nukus and measures to eliminate the consequences,' adopted on January 6.

The incident took place on December 29, 2023, in the 23rd sub-district of Nukus, leading to the poisoning of two citizens by an unidentified substance. They were subsequently admitted to the Karakalpakstan branch of the Republican Emergency Medical Research Center. Unfortunately, despite medical treatment, one of them passed away.

Following this occurrence, the Mayor of Nukus established an investigative commission to delve into the incident's causes and take preventative measures against similar accidents.

Additionally, the official from the Nukus city branch of 'Hududgaz Karakalpakstan,' responsible for gas supply, was assigned the task of examining compliance with safety regulations in the use of natural and liquefied hydrocarbon gas, solid fuel, or petroleum products for household needs in residential areas, including multi-apartment buildings. Their mandate includes rectifying identified issues and malfunctions.

It's noteworthy that previously, in the Samarkand region, several citizens were poisoned by contaminated food.
