34604Earlier, it was reported that a clothing store advertisement featured the participation of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, People's Artist Ozodbek Nazarbekov. The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights began investigating the situation. As a result of the investigation, the clothing store was fined, and the minister was found not guilty, according to a report by the Competition Committee.
According to reports, the committee's special commission initiated the case in an appropriate manner, resulting in the clothing store being found in violation of Article 16 of the Law "On Advertising," specifically the prohibition on showing goods' approval by state bodies or their officials in advertisements.
"As a result, a decision was made to impose a financial penalty on this enterprise in the prescribed manner, and an instruction was issued to rectify the legal violation and prevent future occurrences," the report states.
The review of the case by the Special Commission revealed no evidence that Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov was involved in the advertisement as an advertiser, preparer, or distributor.
"The fact that Ozodbek Nazarbekov did not distribute the advertisement through his personal social networks or other official networks means he is not considered a participant in the circulation of advertising according to the Law on Advertising."
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Culture previously responded to the situation. Ozodbek Nazarbekov, as a member of the jury of the "Voice" project, visited the clothing store and selected clothes with the project's image makers for the filming of the next episode.
