3877In the Navoi region, investigations revealed that oil companies were engaged in the sale of highly liquid and monopolistic products through the stock market, manipulating prices artificially. This was reported by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.
For instance, an analysis of the activities of "Forever-Service" and "Karmana Moy Invest" LLCs concerning the sale of cotton oil, cotton meal, and cotton shelukha revealed that "Forever-Service" LLC generated over 2 billion soums in revenue. Specifically, it sold 101.52 tons of cottonseed oil, 191 tons of cotton meal, and 126.2 tons of cotton lint through direct contracts. A total price discrepancy of more than 55 million soums was identified when comparing the prices of these highly liquid and monopolistic products to the average exchange quotation prices from stock market trading.
Similarly, "Karmana Moy Invest" LLC reported sales exceeding 1.1 billion soums, which included 163.7 tons of cotton wool and 148.7 tons of cotton meal sold through direct contracts. This led to a price discrepancy of over 54 million soums compared to average stock market prices.
In light of these findings, the special commission of the committee has initiated legal proceedings against the two oil enterprises for violating the regulations stipulated in Article 29 of the Law "On Competition" and the Cabinet of Ministers' decision No. 170. Appropriate measures will be enforced as per the established procedure.
It is important to note that technical cotton seed, cotton oil (including extraction cotton oil), and products derived from processed seed waste (such as meal and shelukha) are mandated to be sold in the domestic market exclusively through stock trading.
Additionally, it was previously reported that medical institutions were found to have unjustly collected approximately 900 million soums from consumers. These institutions, which failed to compare medical equipment prices, were instructed to refund the unjustly taken money to over 44,000 consumers.
