Unfit meat served to children in Navoi kindergartens

It was revealed that one-quarter of the meat products in some preschool educational institutions in the Nurota district of Navoi region were unfit for consumption. This was reported by the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies.

The conditions in general secondary schools and preschool educational institutions in the district, as well as the state of organizing healthy nutrition for students and pupils, were studied as part of a public control initiative. During this investigation, the quality of education, material and technical resources, compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, food quality, and other important issues were analyzed in detail.

The investigation found that the rules for storing food products allocated for children were not followed in some preschool educational institutions. Specifically, it was found that one-quarter of the meat products in these institutions were unfit for consumption.

“The study is ongoing, and the relevant organizations will be officially informed about the results and the identified shortcomings,” the report states.

It should be recalled that on March 6, during a meeting with officials of the state and non-state preschool education system, Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova announced that 32 leaders and educators had been dismissed in 2024 following complaints about child abuse.
