Today, August 20, a magnitude 3 earthquake occurred in the Namangan region. This was reported by the Republican Center for Seismoprognostic Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The earthquake struck at 16:01 local time. The epicenter was in the Uychi district of the Namangan region, with coordinates of 40.96 degrees north latitude and 71.8 degrees east longitude. The magnitude of the earthquake was M=3, and it occurred at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter is located 219 km southwest of Tashkent.
It should be noted that the information service of the Academy of Sciences recently warned that there is a risk of earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.5 or higher in Tashkent city.
