First Lady Mirziyoyeva meets WHO Director-General in New York

Ziroatkhan Mirziyoyeva, First Lady of Uzbekistan and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Zamin Foundation, held a meeting with Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. This was reported by the Zamin International Public Foundation.
During the meeting, Mirziyoyeva expressed her gratitude to the WHO chief for the organization’s significant contribution to global medicine and healthcare, as well as for its support in expanding the global platform to ensure access to anticancer medicines for children in Uzbekistan.

Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation, particularly in introducing modern methods for the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of childhood cancer, training specialists in oncology and hematology, and expanding rehabilitation and psychosocial support services for children and their families.
The head of the WHO highly commended Uzbekistan’s efforts in the healthcare sector and praised the activities of the Zamin Foundation, which implements key social and environmental initiatives.
It should be noted that earlier, during her visit to New York, First Lady Ziroatkhan Mirziyoyeva, at the invitation of Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan, visited an exhibition dedicated to Turkey’s cultural heritage.
