First ladies of Uzbekistan and Turkey visit exhibition in New York

The first lady of Uzbekistan, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, visited an exhibition dedicated to Turkey’s cultural heritage in New York on September 23. The visit took place at the invitation of the first lady of Turkey, Emine Erdogan, as part of her trip to the city, the UzA reported.


It was noted that the exhibition showcased Anatolia’s centuries-old heritage, combining traditions, crafts, and culture with modern design. On display were national fabrics, handwoven carpets, jewelry crafted in the ’’telkari’’ and ’’kazaziye’’ styles, examples of pottery, carved walnut chests, and handmade copperware.

’’During the visit to the exhibition, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva and Emine Erdogan exchanged views on further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two nations,’’ the report said.

The event was also attended by the spouses of heads of state and government who are in New York for the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, as well as senior representatives of foreign delegations.

It is worth noting that the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is currently in New York, United States, to take part in the events of the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly. His address from the UN rostrum is scheduled for today, September 23.
On September 22, within the framework of the UN General Assembly’s 80th anniversary session, Mirziyoyev received Sergio Gor, the US President’s Special Representative for South and Central Asia, at his designated residence.
