In Central Asia, there is no alternative to expanding regional cooperation; it is imperative. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, made this declaration in his speech at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 19.

According to him, in recent years, Central Asia has been advancing towards good neighborliness, stability, mutual cooperation, and development.

"Thanks to our collective efforts, Uzbekistan has successfully addressed issues related to state borders, transport corridors, and water usage with all its neighbors," states Mirziyoyev.

Continuing his speech, he proudly noted that mutual trade among the countries in the region has increased more than two and a half times, and the number of joint ventures has quintupled

"Our region has become a hub of economic development, serving as a vital transport and communication bridge connecting East and West, North and South. Interest in our region is on the rise," remarks the leader of Uzbekistan.

It was further emphasized that Central Asia's openness to the world is the most critical factor in ensuring the security and stable development of the region.

"It can be confidently asserted that our peoples share a strong sense of regional identity, and this sentiment is growing stronger. Our history, as well as our future and vital interests, are mutual and shared. We have no option but to expand our regional cooperation; there is no other way! I am certain that, with the support of the international community, Central Asia will continue on the path of unity. Transforming Central Asia into a peaceful and prosperous region will remain a top priority of Uzbekistan's foreign policy," concludes Mirziyoyev.
