Today, October 7, during the Gabala Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), President Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward several key initiatives aimed at strengthening the unity of the Turkic world and enhancing its role in global politics, economics, and humanitarian affairs.

The Uzbek leader proposed holding the first joint meeting of OTS foreign ministers and heads of special services in Samarkand, with the goal of coordinating approaches to regional and global security issues.

He also expressed support for the early adoption of the Treaty on strategic partnership, eternal friendship, and brotherhood, and initiated the development of the OTS Strategy for development until 2030.

In addition, President Mirziyoyev proposed establishing a Permanent Council on economic partnership of the Turkic states and locating its project office in Tashkent.

The Uzbek leader also advanced initiatives aimed at forming a new space of economic opportunity, including the creation of a Turkic Industrial Alliance, a ’’Turkic green corridors’’ system, and a green transformation consortium. He further suggested establishing an expert group on organic agriculture and promoting a unified brand of Turkic organic products in the global market.

At the same time, Mirziyoyev supported the development of the Middle Corridor and its connection with the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway and the Trans-Afghan route. He emphasized the importance of digitalizing customs procedures and optimizing tariffs.

It was also proposed to expand the activities of the Turkic Investment Fund and to adopt a cooperation program with international and national financial institutions.

President Mirziyoyev suggested adopting a ’’roadmap’’ on artificial intelligence and the creative economy, as well as holding the International exhibition of the Turkic world in Uzbekistan. He also announced the establishment of the International University of the Turkic states in Uzbekistan, which will serve as a platform for joint research and innovation.

In addition, Mirziyoyev proposed developing an action plan to combat extremist and radical ideologies and implementing joint measures to enhance youth environmental literacy. The President also initiated the idea of holding an international conference in 2026 titled ’’The works of Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi in the spiritual life of the Turkic world.’’

It should be noted that within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Uzbekistan has been consistently promoting the idea of strengthening connectivity in transport and logistics, in particular, the development of the Middle (Trans-Caspian) Transport Corridor, which links Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe. This route is mentioned in the OTS official documents as one of the priority directions of economic integration.

Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the OTS has entered a qualitatively new stage, transforming from a simple consultative structure into a multilateral mechanism of political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation with concrete and practical goals.

As the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) continues to strengthen its role as an independent regional power center, Uzbekistan once again advances concrete initiatives aimed at deepening economic partnership, developing transport connectivity, and consolidating the unity of the Turkic world.

Uzbekistan proceeds from the firm belief that Turkic solidarity should be reflected not only in symbols but in real actions, through joint projects, investments, infrastructure development, and knowledge exchange that promote stability and mutual trust across the region.
