Mirziyoyev leaves for Turkmenistan

On the morning of August 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for a working visit to Turkmenistan at the invitation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People’s Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the presidential press service reported.
During the visit, the head of state will take part in the summit in the “Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan–Uzbekistan” format, to be held in the Avaza national tourist zone.
Within the framework of the summit, Mirziyoyev is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks.
Earlier, it was reported that the Uzbek president would visit Turkmenistan at the invitation of Berdimuhamedov.
For reference, on August 5 this year, a trilateral meeting of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov was held in Avaza, where the sides discussed the expansion of mutually beneficial regional cooperation and the promotion of joint projects.
