President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, as reported by the President's press service.

The Russian delegation's visit to Uzbekistan is in conjunction with the fifth meeting of the joint commission at the level of the heads of government of Uzbekistan and Russia. At the start of the meeting, Mikhail Mishustin conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to President Mirziyoyev.

During the negotiations, discussions centered on multifaceted cooperation, the comprehensive strategic partnership, and the further expansion of alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Russia. Particular emphasis was placed on the implementation of decisions and agreements reached during the state visit of the Russian President to Uzbekistan from May 26-28 of this year.

The successful outcomes of the regular meeting of the Joint Commission, held on September 9, were highly praised.

The discussions underscored the necessity of coordinated measures to sustain the pace of trade and to support and expedite cooperation projects in key sectors such as industry, energy, agriculture, transport, and other priority areas of the economy.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of further strengthening practical cooperation at the regional level, continuing intensive cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and establishing effective cooperation in the field of migration.

Additionally, the meeting included an exchange of views on matters of mutual interest.

It is noteworthy that on September 9, during the fifth meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin mentioned that the two countries are exploring the possibilities of localizing the production of civil unmanned aircraft systems and their components.
