President Mirziyoyev congratulates 'Arkadag' on New Year, highlights bilateral achievements

On December 30, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the call, the leaders exchanged sincere New Year greetings, wishing each other and their nations health, happiness, prosperity, and peace, as reported by the presidential press service.

The two leaders also discussed pressing issues related to strengthening the friendly, good-neighborly, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

It was highlighted that mutual trade between the countries is steadily increasing, while cooperation in energy, transport, industry, agriculture, and water management sectors continues to grow. Additionally, interdepartmental and interregional collaboration, business ties, and cultural exchanges have intensified.

President Mirziyoyev commended the successful international events held this year to mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of the renowned poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Firugi. He noted the production of a feature film by Uzbek and Turkmen filmmakers and the organization of joint commemorative events.

Regional cooperation was also a key topic of discussion, particularly in preparation for the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States. The leaders reviewed plans for future collaborative events.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had also extended his New Year greetings to President Mirziyoyev and several other state leaders.
