Yesterday, March 12, during the state visit of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the French Republic, President Emmanuel Macron hosted a state reception in Mirziyoyev’s honor at the Élysée Palace. This was reported by the press service of the President.

According to the report, the reception was attended by official delegations from both countries, members of the French Cabinet of Ministers led by Prime Minister François Bayrou, prominent figures in culture, art, and science, as well as representatives from business circles and the public.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude to Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, for the warm reception. He noted with satisfaction that the negotiations held earlier in the day were of historic significance, resulting in the elevation of bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership.

The French leader praised the outcomes of the negotiations and the agreements signed.

“In just a few years, we have established long-term cooperation in key areas such as energy, water resource management, public utilities, transport, and sustainable tourism. As evidence of this, I can point to French companies investing in Uzbekistan with the support of the French government and the French Development Agency, creating added value and jobs in the regions, and helping young people acquire skills and find their place in life,” said Emmanuel Macron.

Both sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to further strengthening Uzbekistan-France cooperation for the prosperity of their peoples.

As a reminder, earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded France’s highest honor—the Legion of Honor—during his state visit.
