Mirziyoyev expresses condolences on the passing of Mirabbos Mirzaahmedov

Earlier reports announced the passing of Mirabbos Mirzaahmedov, an honored cultural figure of Uzbekistan. In response, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his condolences.
Mirabbos Abdulhaqovich Mirzaahmedov, a distinguished representative of national culture and Uzbek arts, renowned director, and television host, passed away on November 19 at the age of 84.
He was born on September 30, 1941, in Tashkent into an educated family. After completing secondary school, he studied cinema and theater arts at the Tashkent Institute of Theater and Arts (now the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture).
Beginning his career at the Uzbekistan Television and Radio Company as an assistant director, Mirzaahmedov served with distinction for more than 60 years in positions including director and chief director of the “Yoshlar” editorial office, senior director at the “Uzbekistan” TV channel, and director and host of the program “Otalar So‘zi – Aqlning Ko‘zi.” Under his guidance, numerous broadcasts and productions addressing topical themes and genres, as well as artistic video films, earned widespread acclaim for their national spirit, depth of content, and appeal to audiences. Notable works directed by him, such as “Bahor Qaytmaydi,” “Izlayman,” “Qalbingga Quloq Sol,” “Bahs,” “Uch Ildiz,” and “Dunyoning Ishlari,” remain celebrated examples of Uzbek television culture.
“Mirabbos Mirzaahmedov brought a fresh spirit and meaningful content to the program ‘Otalar So‘zi – Aqlning Ko‘zi,’ which has been broadcast on our central TV channels for over 40 years. Through this program, he drew public attention to social and moral issues in our society and significantly contributed to promoting love for family and homeland, as well as values of ethics, kindness, and compassion, particularly among young people.
A lifelong seeker and devoted servant of the people, this hardworking artist established his own school of skill and experience, mentoring many young talents,” the condolence letter stated.
Mirzaahmedov’s contributions to the development of the country’s culture and arts were recognized by the state. He was awarded the honorary title “Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” as well as the “Mehnat Shuhrati” and “Dostlik” orders.
“His memory will forever remain in our hearts. A respected artist, sincere and humble individual, and beloved mentor to youth, Mirabbos Mirzaahmedov’s legacy will continue to inspire,” the letter concluded.
