President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the C5+1 Summit of Central Asian leaders and the U.S. President at the White House in Washington, D.C., where he put forward several proposals.

“Today’s summit confirms that the United States sees Central Asia as a reliable and important partner. Together, we are building a future based on trust, mutual understanding, and creativity,” Mirziyoyev said.

His proposals included:

  •  Establishing a permanent secretariat within the C5+1 framework, or rotating it among participating countries every two years.
  •  Creating a coordination council at the ministerial level for investments and trade to ensure systematic dialogue between government agencies, companies, and financial institutions.
  •  Strengthening active cooperation with the U.S. in large-scale transport, communications, and energy projects.

Mirziyoyev also emphasized the importance of revitalizing the Central Asia Investment Partnership Fund, a concept that had reached an agreement with the U.S. DFC in 2020.

“Today, I presented to you a three-year joint investment program worth a total of $34 billion. These are very large, strategically significant projects. We discussed this in New York, and I am reiterating it today. There are great prospects ahead.

Once again, I express my gratitude. I am confident that the outcomes of today’s summit will be of historic importance. Your attention and commitment to Central Asia and the United States are a vivid expression of our strengthening partnership,” the Uzbek leader said.

He noted that the C5+1 framework should become an effective mechanism for practical action and proposed hosting the next summit in 2026 in Samarkand — the birthplace of the format.

“I believe that under your leadership, our cooperation will continue to develop steadily. I have proposed holding a ‘Peace Summit,’ and we are preparing seriously for this initiative,” Mirziyoyev added.

The summit, chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump, was also attended by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan.
