On 14 October, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon within the framework of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The meeting discussed topical issues of further expansion of multilateral cooperation and strengthening of regional partnerships in Central Asia.

The presidents stressed the need to implement the agreements reached at a high level, first of all, to increase trade turnover, and implement priority investment projects in the fields of industry, energy, transport, infrastructure, and agriculture.

Issues related to cooperation within regional structures, including SCO and CIS, were also discussed.
