Mirziyoyev met with the secretary of the party committee of Guangdong province

Following the events in Beijing, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and his wife arrived in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on January 24. Today, January 25, he convened a meeting with Huang Kunming, the secretary of the provincial party committee, as reported by the President's press service.

During the meeting, discussions centered on practical aspects of enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation with Guangdong, with a particular focus on high-tech industries.

Emphasis was placed on deepening industrial cooperation, including the establishment of specialized high-tech parks in Uzbekistan for key companies from Guangdong.

Efforts to enhance humanitarian relations and business exchanges were also addressed, including collaboration in IT education and the establishment of direct flights.

On the second day of his China visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev is slated to participate in the Uzbekistan-China investment forum and engage in meetings with leaders of prominent companies and financial structures in the PRC.

For context, Guangdong stands out as one of China's most developed regions, contributing approximately 10 percent to the country's GDP and holding a leading position in this regard. The province serves as the primary economic partner for Uzbekistan's regions.

Shenzhen, the third most populous city in China and a special economic zone in Guangdong Province, is a global hub for technology, research, production, business, economy, tourism, and transport. It ranks as the world's fourth-largest seaport in terms of container cargo handling capacity.
