First trilateral summit of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan set for March 31

On August 5, within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in the Avaza National Tourist Area in the city of Turkmenbashi, a trilateral meeting took place between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People's Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

The sides discussed expanding mutually beneficial regional cooperation and advancing joint projects.

"The parties highlighted the potential for cooperation in the energy, transport and logistics, industry, and agriculture sectors," the report stated.

It was also agreed to continue dialogue in this format to develop promising initiatives for practical cooperation.

Earlier, within the framework of the UN Conference, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Turkmenistan, as well as with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

Mirziyoyev also proposed developing a global agreement on transit guarantees for landlocked countries under the auspices of the UN.
