Mirziyoyev orders monthly public reports from governors

In Uzbekistan, regional and district governors have been instructed to provide monthly reports to the public through mass media on the work carried out in their areas. This was announced today, October 14, during a video conference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focused on further improving the neighborhood system and ensuring effective local governance.

’’Bringing the spirit of New Uzbekistan to every neighborhood, which is at the heart of our reforms, directly depends on the cohesion of the neighborhood teams,’’ the President said.

It was emphasized that each member of the neighborhood teams, led by the neighborhood head, must take responsibility and publicly announce their one-year program on the fulfillment of assigned tasks.

Governors at the regional and district levels will defend their monthly work plans in local councils and communicate their progress to the public. They are required to meet directly with neighborhood residents each month and report through mass media on completed tasks.

During the meeting, reports from regional leaders were reviewed, and discussions with neighborhood heads were held.
