Gasoline prices in Uzbekistan top the list among CIS countries, as per the 'Global Petrol Prices' platform. This platform publishes retail prices of motor fuel, electricity, and natural gas across more than 150 countries.
Typically, gasoline prices tend to be higher in wealthier countries and lower in less affluent ones. However, as of January 1, one liter of 95-grade gasoline ($1.137) is being sold at a significantly higher price compared to the United States ($0.911).
The platform also compared gasoline prices among CIS countries, revealing that Uzbekistan has the highest gasoline cost.
For instance, one liter of gasoline costs $0.428 in Turkmenistan, $0.534 in Kazakhstan, $0.588 in Azerbaijan, $0.617 in Russia, and $0.801 in Kyrgyzstan. Despite the launch of a new GTL plant, diesel prices in Uzbekistan remain higher than in the US.
It's worth noting that earlier reports mentioned that gasoline prices in Uzbekistan had 'skyrocketed'.
