With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, two citizens held at the deportation center in Malaysia under difficult circumstances will be repatriated to Uzbekistan, the “Dunyo” information agency reported.
It is stated that this humanitarian support has been provided within the framework of the “Return to the Motherland” campaign, taking place in the country from July 30 to August 30 this year.
The employees of the Uzbek embassy held a meeting with the management of the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs’ temporary detention center for foreign nationals. During the talks, an agreement was reached on the early return to Uzbekistan of M.Yu., a native of the Fergana region, currently held at the deportation center.
As the citizen of Uzbekistan did not possess a passport, the Embassy issued a certificate of return to the homeland. With the support of his relatives, an air ticket was purchased for the Kuala Lumpur–Tashkent flight.
In addition, within the framework of the “Return to the Motherland” campaign, assistance was also provided to J.M., a native of the Samarkand region, who had found himself in a difficult situation in Kuala Lumpur. The diplomatic mission rendered practical support in obtaining a special exit permit from the Migration Department of the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs. Both citizens will be repatriated to Uzbekistan in the coming days.
It is worth noting that earlier, practical assistance was provided for a mother and her underage child, who had suffered from a difficult situation in Irkutsk, Russia, to return to Uzbekistan with the cooperation of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan and the representative office of the Migration agency.
