On March 6, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the MPs of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament), senators, and the leadership of the Supreme Court. At the meeting, a consultation was held on the results of proposals received by the people regarding amendments and additions to the Constitution. This was reported by the press secretary of the President, Sherzod Asadov.

It is noted that the deputies studied more than 200,000 proposals sent by the public. International experience was also taken into account, and senior specialists and experts from various fields were involved.

"As a result of several months of studies, the final draft of the Constitutional Law on Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was prepared," Sherzod Asadov wrote on his Telegram channel.

It is noted that due to the fact that this draft law reflects very important changes related to the spheres of socio-economic, political, and state administration, before putting it to a referendum, the deputies held consultations with subjects who have the legislative initiative defined in Article 83 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Representatives of the parliament, the government, and the public express their suggestions and opinions on the draft law.

It was also noted at the meeting that this draft law would be separately considered and given a conclusion by the Constitutional Court.
