Kisida is visiting Uzbekistan

7186Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is expected to visit Uzbekistan, as reported by the press secretary of the President, Sherzod Asadov.
In addition to Uzbekistan, Kishida is also scheduled to visit Kazakhstan and Mongolia from August 9-12. The Prime Minister will hold a meeting with the leaders of five Central Asian countries in Kazakhstan and announce a package of economic assistance to the region.
The economic package aims to establish a trade route, promote decarbonization, and enhance people-to-people exchanges. This initiative is expected to be part of a joint statement to be issued after the six-party summit in Kazakhstan.
Japan has recently been focusing on developing relations with Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. In early December 2022, the Central Asia Investment Forum was held in Tokyo, with the participation of authorities and business representatives from the region.
It was previously reported that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida would visit Central Asia.
