Whose contract money will be paid by the state?

In Uzbekistan, the payment contract money of some students is paid by the state.  This was announced in the decision of the Government adopted in June 2022.

According to the decision, a special list of them has been formed, and the contract money of the enrolled students will be paid in the following cases:

• A student raised in an orphanage or children’s town;
• A child of a family included in the “Iron Register”;
• A low-income student deprived of parental care, placed under guardianship;
• Children of women included in the “Women’s Register”;
• A child of a low-income family with at least one of the family members having group I or both group II disabilities studying in professional or higher education institutions;
• A child of a family enrolled in the “Unified Register of Social Protection” studying in professional or higher education institutions;
• A student with a disability or health impairment;
• A student from a poor family.

Also.  A part of the contract amount is also paid to students studying in professional educational organizations and studying in branches of state, non-state higher education organizations and foreign higher education institutions.  In these cases, it is necessary for the student to study full-time, part-time and evening bachelor’s degrees and full-time master’s degrees.

Based on the positive recommendation of the youth leader, these expenses will be paid according to the scheme up to 50% of the payment contract, but not exceeding 50 times of the basic calculation amount (16.5 million sums).

Reimbursement of part of the payment contract costs is not applicable in some cases.  If the student is studying in the second and subsequent specialties, in joint educational programs and on the basis of a differentiated fee-contract, his fee-contract will not be reimbursed.
