Starting from July 1, no restrictions will be imposed on the export of any goods from Uzbekistan. This announcement was made on April 18 during a videoconference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focused on measures to mitigate the impact of global economic shocks on Uzbekistan's sectors and industries.

The meeting also addressed issues related to the labeling system, which has been introduced for soft drinks, household appliances, pharmaceuticals, alcohol, and tobacco products. However, it was noted that unlabeled goods are still being sold freely alongside products from entrepreneurs who fully comply with the law. Since not all retail outlets implement labeling, the control chain is being disrupted.

The President instructed the Tax and Customs Committees to develop solutions to minimize the negative impact of labeling requirements on production volumes and to enhance enforcement of the rules.

It was emphasized that current export restrictions on high-demand goods are causing Uzbekistan to miss valuable opportunities in lucrative foreign markets.

As part of new reforms, it was announced that from July 1, all export restrictions will be lifted. However, export duties will still apply to raw materials and products of high social importance falling into 86 commodity groups. This is expected to open new doors for businesses.

“One thing must be clearly understood: if entrepreneurs work in high-value markets, they will increase production, improve quality, and be motivated,” the President said.

It should be recalled that during the same meeting, it was also announced that excise taxes on sugar would be abolished, and restrictions on the import of powdered milk would be lifted.
