2820A citizen in the Khorezm region was fined over 27 million soums for cutting down four trees, according to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
State inspectors from the Khorezm Region Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, in cooperation with the Khanka District Department, conducted an inspection raid. During the raid, it was discovered that citizen T.B. had illegally cut down four paulownia trees, causing damage to the environment estimated at 10 million 880 thousand soums.
An administrative report was filed against the citizen under Article 79 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Illegal cutting, felling, damaging, destroying, or moving trees, bushes, other plants, and seedlings). The offender was fined 17 million soums, which is 50 times the base calculation amount.
