16.4 kg of narcotics imported from neighboring countries confiscated

1330A total of 16.4 kg of narcotics were confiscated during operational measures conducted by law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug trafficking, UzA reported.
According to the report, when a Nexia car traveling in the Samarkand district was stopped and inspected, 7 kg 230 g of "hashish" and 1 kg 289 g of "methamphetamine" were discovered. The drugs, belonging to E.M., born in 1981, a resident of Pakhtachi district, were seized in a procedural manner. During the pre-investigation investigation, it was revealed that the drugs were sent by Afghan drug traffickers.
In a separate case in Urgut district, previously convicted individuals F.H. (born in 1986) and A. Sh.A. (born in 1999) were detained with 921 grams of "opium," which had been smuggled from Tajikistan. The pair were attempting to sell the narcotics to a buyer for 12,000 US dollars.
Additionally, two individuals from Namangan City, Sh.Yu. (born in 1995) and A.Yu. (born in 1995), along with Sh.K. (born in 1994), were detained when they received 3 kg 50 grams of "hashish" hidden in a field in Chust district by Tajik drug traffickers.
Another operation saw the interception of a Lacetti car in the Naryn district, traveling in the “Namangan-Andijan” direction. The vehicle, driven by F.Kh. (born in 1989), a previously convicted individual from Asaka district, contained 1 kg 911 grams of "hashish." The narcotics were brought from Kyrgyzstan to the Uchkurgan district of Namangan region via roundabout routes.
In Surkhandarya region, a previously convicted person, B.B. (born in 1990), was detained while attempting to sell 2 kg 16 g of "opium" imported from Tajikistan for 10,000 US dollars.
Criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals under Articles 246 (Smuggling) and 273 (Illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and trafficking of narcotics) of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are ongoing.
It is worth noting that the members of an organized criminal group who established a drug laboratory in Andijan were sentenced to long prison terms.
