Minister of Construction was dismissed

Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy Botir Zokirov was dismissed from his post due to health reasons. This was announced today, July 17, at a video selector meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which focused on the first half-year analysis and priority tasks for ensuring economic growth in regions and sectors until the end of the year.

Sherzod Hidoyatov, the first deputy minister of construction and housing and communal economy, has been appointed as the acting minister.

It was reported that the construction sector grew by 10% in the first half of the year, reaching 80 trillion soums. Despite this growth, it was emphasized that the time has come to seriously address cost reduction in construction without becoming complacent.

The cost of construction is not only dependent on land and construction materials; complex procedures such as meeting technical requirements, project approval, and obtaining construction permits also significantly impact costs.

It was noted that if these processes are improved and conditions for entrepreneurs are enhanced, it will greatly stimulate the development of related industries such as construction materials, the electronics industry, and mortgage services.
