One person dies in explosion in Kokand

Earlier, reports said a gas explosion had occurred in one of the apartment buildings in Kokand, Fergana region. It has now been confirmed that one person was killed as a result of the incident, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to the ministry, rescuers recovered the body of one citizen from under the debris while eliminating the consequences of the explosion.
It is noted that the explosion occurred due to a gas-air mixture flash in one of the multi-storey residential buildings located in the “Bostan” neighborhood of Kokand.
Previously, another gas explosion had been reported in a multi-storey building in Kokand. As a result of that incident, four citizens sustained burns of varying degrees and were hospitalized at the city medical association. Despite medical assistance provided, one of the injured later died.
