The cities of Kokand, Fergana, and Margilan will be expanded

It is planned to change the boundaries of a number of districts and three cities in the Fergana region.  On August 8, at the regular meeting of the faction of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan the draft law of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) “On changing the boundaries of the cities of Kokand, Margilan, Fergana, and Uchkoprik, Uzbekistan, Dangara, Koshtepa, Toshlok, Fergana districts of the Fergana region” was discussed.

According to the draft decision, the lands transferring to the balance of the cities of Kokand, Margilan, and Fergana from the expense of Uchkoprik, Uzbekistan, Dangara, Koshtepa, Toshlok, and Fergana districts will be transferred without changing the category of their current land fund.

A number of activities will be carried out on land allocated to the cities of Kokand, Margilan, and Fergana.  In particular, on the territory transferring from the Fergana district to the city of Fergana, it is planned to build a park “New Uzbekistan”, 80 multi-storey houses, a school, a kindergarten, and a family polyclinic.

In addition, 150 high-rise buildings, business centers, general education, and pre-school educational institutions, as well as small industrial zones will be built on the land passing from Uchkoprik, Uzbekistan, Dangara districts to the city of Kokand and 108 multi-storey residential buildings are planned on land transferring from the Koshtepa, Toshlok, and Fergana districts.
