The Ulan District Court of Kazakhstan has reviewed a civil case concerning the expulsion of a citizen of Uzbekistan, following a request from the Ulan District Department of Internal Affairs. The case was reported by the East Kazakhstan Regional Court.
According to court documents, the individual was previously convicted under Part 1 of Article 96 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan (intentional murder) by the Specialized Interdistrict Court for Criminal Cases in the Karaganda Region. He was sentenced to 11 years in a strict-regime penal colony.
However, on October 21, 2021, the Shemonaikha District Court granted the individual early release on parole. He remained under probationary supervision for the remainder of his sentence—three years, three months, and three days. The probation period officially ended in January 2025.
Under current Kazakh legislation, foreign nationals convicted of serious crimes and found in violation of Kazakh law may be subject to deportation. Based on this legal framework, the court approved the expulsion of the Uzbek citizen from Kazakhstan.
It was noted that the deportation order has not yet entered into legal force and may be subject to appeal.
