Separate admission quotas will be introduced for youth from Karakalpakstan

About 7,000 separate quotas will be allocated to the youth from Karakalpakstan to enter higher education institutions.  The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave such an instruction based on the proposal of the candidate for the chairman of the republican parliament at the special session of the Supreme Council of Karakalpakstan.

The president gave the following tasks to the officials:

• establishing preferential loans for up to 7 years to young entrepreneurs in Karakalpakstan;

• creating an opportunity to organize foreign language and IT training courses for young people and women in vacant state facilities, to give these facilities to entrepreneurs for free use for up to 5 years;

• establishment of 4 mono-centers "Welcome to the job" in Kungirot, Nukus, and Chimboy districts;

• introduction of 6,500 admission quotas to all universities in our country only for youth from Karakalpakstan;

• Based on the needs of Karakalpakstan, launching the training of additional personnel in basic doctoral studies in the fields of ecology, agriculture, irrigation, and construction.

For reference, the president also instructed to reduce the profit tax for Karakalpak entrepreneurs from 15% to 7.5%.
