Three Bukhara deer were illegally hunted in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, resulting in environmental damage exceeding 3 billion soums. This was reported by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

According to the report, the Bukhara deer were hunted by employees of the Lower Amu Darya State Biosphere Reserve under the ministry. The Beruniy District Internal Affairs Department of the Republic of Karakalpakstan conducted an investigation into the incident.

It was discovered that one male and two female deer were killed with a hunting rifle by a person identified as M.K. During the inspection of the scene, plastic ammunition fragments from two hunting rifles, red stains resembling blood, and a hunting rifle were found in the reserve's lands. The hunting rifle was seized as material evidence.

The killing of the Bukhara deer, a species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resulted in a total material loss of 3 billion 375 million soums to the animal world.

Following the incident, M.K. was arrested on suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 202 of the Criminal Code (Violation of the procedure for using fauna or flora). A criminal case has been initiated by the investigation department of the Beruniy District Internal Affairs Department, and an investigation is currently underway.
