4181QALAMPIR.UZ reports that a pregnant woman, her husband, and a relative tragically died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Nukus, Republic of Karakalpakstan, on October 18. The fetus of the 23-year-old woman was five months along.
To clarify the details of the incident, the editorial team reached out to Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office. He confirmed that three individuals died from carbon monoxide poisoning at house 3/6 in the 23rd sub-district of Nukus.
On that day, at 07:51, a doctor from the Republic of Karakalpakstan branch of the Republic Emergency Medical Center, K.Ye. Ya.A., born in 1999, called the emergency number "102" to report that her husband, born in 2001, Ya.M., and his relative, T.A., born in 1997, had succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning while visiting their home.
An emergency response team was dispatched to the scene, where it was determined that the victims had died from gas poisoning caused by a malfunction in the chimney of the house's heating boiler.
The investigation is ongoing.
It is worth noting that on October 22, four family members died due to a gas explosion in a house in the Kushrabot district. Following this incident, a criminal case was initiated against officials from the district gas supply department. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has emphasized the need to implement measures for the maintenance and preparation of gas, electric, and other fuel heating devices in residential and social facilities, especially as temperatures drop and the demand for heating increases.
