Uzbekistan participates in the OIC Summit in Karabakh (photo report)

On July 4, the 17th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is being held in the city of Khonjendir, Azerbaijan.

The event is chaired by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and is attended by prominent leaders, including the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan,n Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Oljas Bektenov, and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov.

Also in attendance are the Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Taliban interim government in Afghanistan, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, OIC Secretary General Asad Majid Khan, and heads of delegations from several other countries and regional organizations.

The summit focuses on prospects for expanding multifaceted cooperation within the OIC and includes discussions on key international and regional challenges.

Following the official session, the heads of state and government also attended a dinner reception.
