The “National Revival” does not intend to run for election

20795The Democratic Party known as “National Revival” has announced that it will not participate in the upcoming presidential election. During a plenum held in Tashkent on the 13th of May, Party leader Alisher Kadyrov proposed supportin the incumbent President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the presidential race, along with the UzLiberal Democratic Party. Kadyrov stated that out of the 237 program objectives set by the party in the previous parliamentary and presidential elections, 143 have been achieved due to the efforts of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. After consulting with all party activists, he made the offer to support President Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev in the early presidential elections, in collaboration with UzLiDep.
Emphasizing the need for unity during these challenging times, Kadyrov stated, "It is necessary for us to firmly unite around the current President and find the most effective way to ensure the power of our homeland and the well-being of our people."
Therefore, Alisher Kadyrov has decided not to run as a candidate himself. It is worth noting that these parties previously formed a coalition in parliament as a democratic bloc. Now, their cooperation will continue in the upcoming presidential elections.
It is important to recall that the presidential election held on the 24th of October 2021, Alisher Kadyrov ran as a candidate from the "National Revival" democratic party and received 5.5% of the votes.
