The Kyrgyz Parliament ratified the document on the border issue with Uzbekistan

10106Today 17 November, Jogorku Kenesh ratified the agreement with the Republic of Uzbekistan on some sections of the Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan border.
83 deputies participated in the parliamentary session.
In the first reading, 64 people voted in favor and 18 people voted against.
In the second: in favor - 61, against - 22.
In the third reading, 64 were in favor and 19 were against.
After voting, President Sadyr Japarov thanked the deputies. He noted that the people's deputies put an end to this by taking responsibility and voting for the agreement.
"God willing, we will solve the border issue with Tajikistan. If there are no obstacles, we will be finished by the new year. We should live in harmony and friendship with the four bordering countries. No citizen, nor soldier should die. First of all, we need to think about this," said Japarov.
The head of state noted that the area of the country today is 199,000 square kilometers and after the border issue is resolved, it will reach 210,000 square kilometers.
"We will also decide with Tajikistan. We must be a united and safe Kyrgyzstan. We are not united now. Now we restore everything. You saw it, we documented it. "Once the issue of borders and ratification is resolved, peace will be established not only in our country but throughout Central Asia," he said.
Let us remind you that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov participated in the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan that followed on the 14 November this year, and for the first time, it was clarified that the "Kampirabad" reservoir is being imported to Uzbekistan.
For information, the "Kampirabad" reservoir is a hydrotechnical facility located in the Kara Darya basin, which originates from 5 tributaries of the Tien-Shan Mountain range. This reservoir, designed in 1962 and completed in 1968-1982, has a total area of 55 sq km and a water capacity of 1 billion 950 m3. There had been a dispute between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for many years on this topic.
