6904An Uzbek citizen who faced difficult circumstances in Doha, Qatar, has successfully returned to Uzbekistan. This was reported by “Dunyo.”
According to the report, Kh.N. traveled to Qatar in May 2024 for work. He was accused of violating several provisions of Qatari law based on a false complaint filed by his employer and sought help from the Uzbek Embassy.
Kh.N. had arrived in Doha to work at a beauty salon. In August 2024, after being ordered by his employer to vacate the salon premises under various pretexts, he temporarily moved to a hotel. Shortly thereafter, local police arrested him on suspicions of theft and fleeing without permission.
In response, Uzbek diplomats provided Kh.N. with legal and consular assistance, as well as temporary shelter and food supplies. Investigations revealed that the accusations against him were fabricated by his employer. Due to these false claims, Kh.N. was initially sentenced to one year in prison and barred from leaving Qatar.
Through sustained efforts by Uzbek diplomats during court proceedings and negotiations with Qatari authorities, Kh.N.’s innocence was proven after eight months. He was cleared of all charges, released from custody, and the travel restrictions imposed on him were lifted.
On March 5, with the support of diplomats, KhX.N. returned to Uzbekistan via a direct flight from Doha to Tashkent.
Note: Earlier, another Uzbek citizen who suffered severe injuries in Vladivostok, Russia, was successfully repatriated.
