The head of the Shakhrisabz district Emergency Situations Department (FVB) in Kashkadarya region has been detained with $3,500 bribe, the State Security Service reported.
It is stated that the head of the Shahrisabz district Emergency Situations Department had demanded $6,000, falsely claiming to have assisted two citizens in securing driver positions in the professional fire-rescue units of the Shahrisabz and Chiroqchi district divisions.
In a joint swift operation conducted by the State Security Service and the Combating Economic Crimes Department under the General Prosecutor’s office, an official was apprehended with physical evidence while obtaining $3,500 of the requested amount.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under articles 168 (fraud) and 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and the pre-trial detention was imposed. Investigative proceedings are currently underway.
Earlier, an officer of the Bureau of compulsory enforcement was sentenced to six years in jail for taking 14.3 million soums and $450 bribe in Tashkent region’s Bekabad district.
