News spread on social networks that a pregnant woman died during surgery at a maternity hospital in the Kashkadarya region, leading to her relatives' displeasure and the onset of a fight. The Regional Health Department issued an official response to the situation.

It was reported that the aforementioned incident occurred at the perinatal center of the region on August 12 of this year. The deceased, identified as T.O., was born in 2004 and resided in the Karshi district.

During her pregnancy, T.O. received monitoring at her local family doctor's office with a diagnosis of "twin fetus." All necessary clinical and laboratory tests were conducted. "She was consistently under the care of an obstetrician-gynecologist and a family doctor, with home care provided," the report stated.

T.O. was hospitalized twice during her pregnancy (most recently in June) at the regional perinatal center due to the risk of miscarriage. According to medical assessments, there were no contraindications for pregnancy and childbirth.

She was admitted to the pathology department for pregnant women at the regional perinatal center on July 31, 2023, at 22:35, with a diagnosis of "35th week of pregnancy, twin fetus, risk of premature birth." On August 4, T.O. gave birth to her first baby, a live male, weighing 2000 grams. The second baby was positioned transversely in the mother's womb, leading to a cesarean section delivery. The second baby, also a boy, is alive and weighs 2800 grams.

"Following the operation, treatment measures were conducted according to standards. On August 11, a surgeon was summoned via the sanaviation service, leading to a medical conference and the diagnosis of 'Metroendometritis, peritonitis, moderate anemia on the 7th day after cesarean section surgery.' A reoperation-laparotomy was performed at 12:00, led by the summoned surgeon. The reoperation involved a total hysterectomy, abdominal cavity resection, and drainage," stated the regional SSB.

Intensive treatment was administered at the regional perinatal center, but on August 12, at 19:00, the woman's condition suddenly deteriorated. Despite resuscitation efforts, T.O. was pronounced biologically deceased on August 12, 2023, at 19:30.

Postmortem, T.O. was diagnosed with "condition after relaparotomy, endotoxicosis, thromboembolism of the pulmonary artery, moderate anemia, severe acute cardiovascular and respiratory failure."

Currently, the Karshi City Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into this incident.
