The Nishon district of the Kashkadarya region witnessed the theft of 568.5 tons of gas condensate fuel, as disclosed by the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office.
During a swift operation on January 25, a criminal group comprising five individuals illicitly breached the gas condensate pipeline owned by the foreign entity "Epsilon Development company" LLC. Situated in the "Shirinabad" neighborhood of Nishan district, the pipeline ruptured and exploded. The group was apprehended while attempting to steal 8.9 tons of condensate fuel, valued at 17.4 million soums, using blackmail.
Subsequent investigations unveiled that this criminal consortium had plundered 568.5 tons of gas condensate fuel, equivalent to 1.1 billion soums.
Responding to the situation, the Karshi specialized prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case under Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code, Part 4, Clause "a," leading to the detention of five individuals through procedural means.
The ongoing preliminary investigation is reported to be in progress.
