Nearly 13,000 applicants exempted from entrance tests

In the 2026-2027 academic year, 12,997 applicants who hold national or international certificates in all subjects were exempted from entrance tests and directly advanced to the next stage of the admission competition for higher education institutions. The Agency for Assessment of Knowledge and Competencies reported this.
According to the agency, this figure has increased sharply compared with last year. In particular, only 678 applicants benefited from this opportunity in the 2025-2026 academic year, while this year their number has grown almost 19-fold.
It was noted that during the registration process, 24,526 international certificates uploaded by applicants were approved. In addition, 193,186 applicants with national or international certificates in general education subjects and 125,354 applicants with certificates in foreign languages registered.
For the current year, 677,907 applicants who expressed interest in entering higher education institutions registered online, of whom 664,609 will take part in entrance tests. Meanwhile, 12,997 applicants who hold national or international certificates in all subjects will participate in the competition without taking tests.
Earlier, it was reported that 677,907 applicants had registered online for admission to higher education institutions in Uzbekistan for the 2026-2027 academic year, marking the lowest figure in the past seven years.
