An Isuzu truck crashes into a tunnel at the “Qamchiq” pass and catches fire (video)

The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a fire broke out in an Isuzu truck that collided with the tunnel wall at the Qamchiq" pass.

The incident occurred today, July 22, at 03:20 in the Rezak tunnel of the A-373 Tashkent-Osh highway. The driver of the Isuzu truck, traveling on the "Vodiy-Tashkent" route, lost control and hit the tunnel wall, resulting in a fire.

Responsible personnel at the tunnel detected the incident, and 13 rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with 2 fire-rescue crews and 1 rescue squad machine, immediately arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire. The truck was subsequently removed from the tunnel and cooled down.

The ministry stated that 95 percent of the 4.2 tons of cargo in the truck's trunk was saved from the fire, and fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities as a result of the incident.

It's worth noting that a tragic car accident occurred at the "Qamchiq" pass in late May of this year, caused by the failure of the brake part of another Isuzu truck. During that incident, the truck collided with 4 cars, resulting in one person's death.
