The accident occurred on November 2, around 10:00 AM on Amir Temur Street in Namangan. According to the investigation, the student from a private school in the Davlatabad district rented a Lacetti car with a friend for 150,000 soums.
Currently, an investigation is underway regarding the circumstances of the incident.
"We left at 9:00 in the morning. We rented the car for two hours for 150,000 soums. I was so scared; I thought I was going to die. I advise no one to drive. We won’t go back and get behind the wheel," stated one of the children involved.
A preventive interview was conducted with the child's father, who was advised to monitor his son's school attendance and remain aware of his activities.
Earlier, in the Namangan region, a serious traffic accident occurred involving a Gentra car driven by school and technical college students and a truck. A minor driver, who was behind the wheel of the Gentra rented by five school and technical college students, lost control, crossed the concrete barrier separating the lanes, and collided with a ZIL truck coming from the opposite direction.
The driver succumbed to injuries before reaching the hospital, while the remaining four victims—three 17-year-olds and one 15-year-old—were admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition.
