The Qamchiq pass section of the A-373 international highway is temporarily closed due to significant snowfall, starting from 00:50 on February 8, as reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ press service.
It's important to note that the ministry is currently overseeing preventive measures conducted by specialists from relevant organizations to address the situation's aftermath.
Specifically, efforts are underway to clear the pass road of snow using specialized equipment.
It's worth mentioning that according to Uzgidromet, heavy precipitation and fog were intermittently observed in the "Qamchiq" pass section of the A-373 highway, connecting Tashkent to Osh, on February 7-8, resulting in reduced visibility to 50 meters and wind speeds of 15-20 meters per second. Consequently, slush and snowdrifts may accumulate on the highway.
