1683Italian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Agostino Pinna, is concluding his diplomatic mission. The announcement was made by Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, following a farewell meeting with the ambassador on November 26.
Minister Saidov commended the ambassador for his significant contributions to the Uzbek-Italian strategic partnership. He emphasized achievements such as dynamic economic collaboration, new investment projects, strengthened business ties, and regular political dialogue.
"On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we express our gratitude to the Ambassador for his selfless service to our country and wish him success in his future endeavors," Saidov stated.
Ambassador Pinna began his tenure in Uzbekistan in 2020, presenting his credentials to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 16. Before this, he served as the Italian Ambassador to Tajikistan and held a farewell meeting with Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, earlier this month.
This transition follows other recent diplomatic changes in the region, including the dismissal of Kyrgyz Ambassador Musa Jamanbayev from his post in Uzbekistan last month. Jamanbayev has served in Tashkent since April 2022.
