Number of people died in workplace accidents over one year announced

According to the State Labor Inspectorate’s 2025 report, a total of 849 work-related accidents were recorded across Uzbekistan. Of these, 216 incidents resulted in fatalities, 583 caused serious injuries, and 50 were classified as group accidents. The Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment reported this.

It was noted that the total number of injured individuals reached 961. Among them, 248 people died, 680 sustained serious injuries, and 33 suffered minor injuries.

The report shows that the highest number of workplace accidents occurred in the construction sector.

In terms of regions, the highest number of workplace accidents was recorded in Tashkent city, with 153 cases. The lowest figures were observed in Khorezm and Surkhandarya regions, where 16 cases were reported in each, marking the most positive results nationwide.

In addition, criminal cases were initiated against 432 officials in connection with these incidents, while administrative fines were imposed on 241 individuals.

Earlier, it was reported that one such workplace accident occurred in December last year at a teahouse in Gulistan, Syrdarya region, where a fire and a gas cylinder explosion resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to 29 others.
